Mastodynia is any uncomfortable sensation a woman may feel in her breast. Some will describe it as burning, others as pulling, pressure, stitches or weight. They will feel it either in the breast alone or in areas around the breast. They may feel it during their period only or at unrelated points in the cycle. The key thing to know is that breast pain usually is not indicative of significant problems and malignancy.
